INGREDIENTS
Sodium Pentaborate Pentahydrate, Poloxamer, Carbomer, Aqua
Accelerates the production of cytoskeletal and ECM proteins. 1-4
Sodium pentaborate pentahydrate, the active ingredient in Dermobor, accelerates the healing process and strengthens the skin barrier.
Dermobor supports the production of structural proteins (collagen, elastin) and adhesion proteins (such as fibronectin, laminin) found in the cytoskeleton and ECM (Extracellular Matrix), accelerating wound closure and the regeneration of epithelial tissue and fibroblasts.
The moisture-retaining formula prevents wound drying by creating an ideal environment for regeneration. This allows the wound to close quickly while the skin gains brightness and elasticity.
Regulations of Growth Factors 2
Dermobor enhances the production of key growth factors such as TGF-β (Transforming Growth Factor Beta) and VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor).
These factors support angiogenesis (formation of blood vessels) and extracellular matrix formation, accelerating the healing process. In the long term, they strengthen the skin barrier and promote a healthy skin structure.
Provides Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Protection 3
Dermobor offers broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection with its antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral effects. Research has shown that this formulation is 99.99% effective against various pathogens. This plays a critical role in reducing infection risks, particularly in complex wounds. By reducing infection risk by 99.99%, it promotes wound healing. It accelerates the healing process without damaging the healthy tissues surrounding the wound.

Effects of Dermobor on Wound Healing and Biological Mechanisms
Studies conducted at Yeditepe University demonstrated the effects of Dermobor on wound healing using acute wound models in rats under in vitro and in vivo conditions.
Cell-level studies have observed that Dermobor increases the migration rate of fibroblast cells. The boron-containing gel accelerates cell migration, aiding in the direction of dermal cells and growth factors to the wound site.
The Dermobor formulation has been shown to improve vascularization by enhancing the regeneration of blood vessels at the wound site. Histological analyses revealed that Dermobor promotes vascular growth and accelerates the healing process. Furthermore, this formulation has also expedited re-epithelialization, one of the key processes in wound healing, resulting in significant improvement in wound closure. These effects have made wound healing more efficient, particularly by supporting the organization of vascular structures.
The Dermobor formulation offers an effective alternative treatment option for wound care. This combination not only provides antibacterial activity but also accelerates wound healing by enhancing epithelial regeneration and blood vessel formation. When supported by clinical studies, this innovative formulation aims to deliver faster and more effective wound healing compared to existing treatment methods.
Sodium Pentaborate Pentahydrate (NaB) with Pluronic (Plu; F68 and F127), patented under Dermobor technology, has shown remarkable results in accelerating wound healing. In both in vitro and in vivo models, NaB significantly increased cell migration and enhanced the activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), which are critical for tissue repair.
The Dermobor formulation, by exhibiting synergistic activity, accelerated wound closure and increased collagen accumulation at the wound site. Our research also revealed that NaB and Pluronic gels enhance the expression of key growth factors such as VEGF, TGF-β, and TNF-α, which are vital for tissue regeneration.
Dermobor Gel formulation was tested using an excisional wound model in rats, demonstrating faster healing rates and superior wound contraction compared to untreated groups. Macroscopic and histopathological evaluations confirmed that wounds treated with the combination gel healed more rapidly, with increased fibroblast proliferation and collagen formation.
Dermobor Jel: Wound Healing Up to 82.46%!
82.46% Wound Closure Rate: Dermobor gel significantly reduced the open wound area in rats treated for 7 days.
Dermobor gel not only increased the wound closure rate but also supported collagen production, facilitating faster tissue repair at the wound site.
Powerful Effect Backed by Scientific Findings
Histopathological examination results obtained from the rat model reveal the effects of Dermobor gel as follows:
- Collagen Accumulation and Cell Proliferation: Rapid proliferation of fibroblasts and significant collagen accumulation were observed in the wound area of gel-treated groups.
- Rapid Epithelialization: Dermobor gel accelerated the healing process by promoting the formation of new tissue in the wound area.
Dermobor gel's proven effects demonstrate its potential use as a solution for chronic wound treatment in dermatology clinics.

Dermobor Anti-Burn Gel for Radiation Therapy-Induced Burns
Clinical studies at Yeditepe University have shown that Dermobor is effective in minimizing radiation dermatitis and provides significant protective and soothing benefits. Significant improvement was observed in 85% of the patients.
Radiation dermatitis (RD) is a side effect seen in more than 90% of breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy (RT). This clinical study aimed to evaluate the preventive effects of a boron-based gel application on RD symptoms (dermatitis, erythema, dry desquamation, and moist desquamation) following 25 radiotherapy sessions.
The clinical study involved placebo-controlled (n = 76) and randomized intervention group (n = 181) participants aged 18-75. A gel containing 3% sodium pentaborate pentahydrate was applied 15 minutes before each radiotherapy session, while the placebo group received a gel without the active ingredient. RD symptoms were compared between the two groups.
Initially, no significant differences were found between the groups, except for body mass index (p > 0.05). After 14 days of treatment, the intervention group showed significantly lower rates of dermatitis (9.9% vs. 98.7%), erythema (12.2% vs. 96.1%), dry desquamation (3.9% vs. 50%), and moist desquamation (0.6% vs. 18.4%) compared to the placebo group (p < 0.001 for all outcomes).
The boron-based gel application significantly reduced the frequency of Radiation Dermatitis symptoms and has been shown to be a preventive treatment during radiotherapy in breast cancer patients.
The Effect of Dermobor on Burn Wound Healing
Burns are one of the most common and devastating types of wounds, often accompanied by life-threatening infections, inflammation, reduced blood vessel formation, inadequate extracellular matrix production, and a deficiency of growth factors.
Developed by Yeditepe University, Dermobor is a hydrogel formulation containing boron and Pluronic block copolymers with antibacterial properties. The effect of Dermobor was tested using cell culture techniques and an experimental burn model. The results showed that the gel formulation enhanced burn healing potential.
Key Insights from Clinical Research
- Wound Healing: The gel accelerated wound closure by enhancing fibroblast cell activity and stimulated the process of angiogenesis.
- Antimicrobial Effects: The gel exhibited strong antimicrobial effects against bacteria, yeasts, and fungi.
- Protein Expressions: The expression of proteins such as collagen, α-smooth muscle actin, transforming growth factor-β1, vimentin, and vascular endothelial growth factor significantly increased in the gel-treated group.
- Macrophage Activity: The antigen showing macrophage mobility in the burn wound highlighted the importance of migration to the wound site and the reduction of the inflammatory phase.
This study is the first research to demonstrate that boron-containing hydrogel can effectively heal burn wounds. Dermobor supports burn wound healing through complex mechanisms such as cell migration, growth factor expression, inflammatory response, and angiogenesis.
Topical agents used in the treatment of burn wounds reduce infections with products containing certain metal antimicrobials and prevent the risk of septic shock in wounds. While silver-containing products are beneficial in burn treatment, silver resistance and toxicity remain significant clinical issues. A study has shown that normal saline solution is equally effective compared to silver sulfadiazine. Additionally, in vitro toxicity analyses revealed that the doses required to overcome bacterial infection exhibited cytotoxic effects in keratinocyte and fibroblast cells.
As a solution to these issues, the development of safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical agents that can accelerate wound healing, promote rapid epithelialization, prevent bacterial infection, and support tissue regeneration is of great importance.
A new antimicrobial gel formulation containing boron and Pluronic block copolymers has been developed in the Dermobor formulation. This formulation increases dermal cell migration, growth factor expression, and vascularization in a burn wound model.
In vitro studies have shown that boron-containing gel groups increase migration speed. By enhancing the migration of keratinocyte cultures, stimulating the extracellular matrix, and supporting the acute healing of skin wounds, boron promotes effective wound recovery.
The Dermobor formulation demonstrates that the combination of Pluronics and boron enhances antimicrobial activity while also supporting the formation of vascular structures. This combination presents itself as an effective treatment alternative for burn wound care.
Dermobor has been proven to be a promising topical formulation for the effective management of burn wounds. Our studies have shown that this new treatment serves as an alternative to existing commercial products.
